The Opening Ceremony on day 1 set the tone for an ambitious three days, with regional leaders highlighting the Basque Country’s commitment to driving the energy transition.
Elixabete Etxanobe, President of the Government of Bizkaia, opened the session with a strong message about Bilbao’s role as a hub for sustainable energy innovation. She was followed by Mayor Juan Mari Aburto; Mikel Jauregi, Minister for Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability of the Basque Government; and Mario Ruiz Tagle, CEO of Iberdrola Spain - each reinforcing the region’s dedication to accelerating progress.
The following days were a whirlwind of high-level strategic sessions, innovative technologies, and great networking.

Bilbao Brings the Energy!
After an unforgettable evening at the Sunset Summit inside the iconic Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, day 2 kicked off with fresh momentum and a clear focus on Iberian renewables and the technologies reshaping Europe’s energy landscape.
