Olav Krause received his Ph.D. degree in usage potential of distribution networks from the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany, in 2009.
He was a Research Associate with the Technical University of Dortmund for five years and came to Australia in 2011 as a Teaching & Research (T&R) Lecturer with the University of Queensland.
In 2017, Olav led a diverse team with UQ, Australian Power Institute, Energy Networks Australia, TasNetworks, United Energy, Energex, Aurecon and Springfield City Group to develop a system that provides power distribution companies with increased visibility of their networks.
This project, called the Solar Enablement Initiative, has since been commercialised into GridQube.
