Dr. Mariano Ortega de Mues is Head of IoT, Edge and AI at Phygital (Minsait), where he leads the development of advanced architectures for intelligent systems and digital transformation across energy and utility sectors. With over two decades of experience at the intersection of technology, industry, and philosophy, he has spearheaded large-scale initiatives in Edge Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Smart Grids for major European clients such as Iberdrola, Naturgy, ENEL, and EDP.

Prior to his current role, he served as Senior System Architect at Intel Corporation, focusing on networked computing and trusted Edge platforms. He has authored multiple patents and scientific publications on semantic data models and distributed intelligent architectures.

Mariano holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Mathematics from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, where he is also a Scientific Board Member of the Chair in Science, Technology and Religion. His work bridges technological innovation and ethical reflection, exploring how intelligent systems can responsibly extend human capabilities in the digital age.
