Maria Romano
María Romano is the Head of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Group office in Spain. Since 2015, she has held senior leadership roles across both the EIB and the European Investment Fund (EIF), contributing to the Group’s strategic development and outreach.
Before her current role in Madrid, María served as Head of the Regional Representations Division at the EIF, where she oversaw the coordination of the EIF’s presence across EU Member States. Prior to joining the EIB Group, she was Chief Financial Officer at Arcano Partners, an independent alternative asset management firm.
She holds a double Master’s degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE – E3), and is fluent in Spanish, English, French, and Italian.
