Carmen is a chemical engineer who holds a Master's degree in Energy Business from the Club Español de la Energía.

She has over 25 years' experience working in various roles within the energy sector in many different positions, in both the Energy Markets area and the Renewable Energy business. She has represented her company at various forums and industry associations, including EFET (the European Federation of Energy Traders) and MIBGAS (the organised gas market for the Iberian Peninsula).

She is currently Head of Business Development at Iberdrola Renovables España, contributing to the company's renewable energy growth targets. She also chairs various Joint Ventures with strategic partners, such as Mapfre and Norges Bank, through which Iberdrola invests in renewable energy generation assets in Iberia.
