María holds a degree in Business and Marketing from the University of Hertfordshire, and a Master's degree in International Trade from the Álava Chamber of Commerce. She began her career at PepsiCo in 2003 at the Global Procurement Department managing through the years different areas such as POS materials, coolers, maintenance services and utilities for plants in Portugal, Italy, and Spain.

She collaborated with the Nature-Based Solutions High Level Champions at the COP26 in Glasgow, and since January 2022 she is the Head of Sustainability for PepsiCo Iberia
