Libertad Moro holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Bilbao (UPV/EHU), Spain.
She currently works at TECNALIA as a Senior Protocol Analyst, specializing in IEC 62056 (DLMS/COSEM), PRIME, G3-PLC, and Web Services. Her role focuses on the development and validation of certification tools that support smart metering interoperability. She also serves as a project manager and consultant for AMI systems, advising utilities and electrical companies on the implementation of the IEC 62056 protocol and related technologies.
With extensive professional experience as an Application Engineer in the smart metering sector, Libertad has collaborated with both national and international utilities, including Iberdrola, Naturgy (GNF), EDP, EEM, CEVE (Portugal), Neoenergia, LACTEC (Brazil), KAHRAMAA (Qatar), EDL (Electricity of Lebanon), SEC (Saudi Electricity Company), TAQA (Abu Dhabi Distribution Company - ADDC and Al Ain Distribution Company - AADC), and FEDA (Andorra). She has played a key role in managing client relationships and delivering advanced technical consultancy services.
Her responsibilities have included the development of test books, technical specifications, proprietary companion profiles, validation plans, and certification procedures for AMI systems. She has led the alignment of specifications with clients and DSOs, and regularly delivers technical training courses. Her work supports the successful deployment and certification of smart metering technologies in global markets.
Libertad is an active member of the Certification Group of the E4S Alliance (Ecosystem for Smart Grids and Smart Meters), where she contributes to defining methodologies and procedures that ensure conformance and interoperability across the European smart metering ecosystem.
