With 13 years of experience in green energy and climate action, Johannes has gained in-depth knowledge of EU policy-making and its funding progammes. Professional skills encompass project development and implementation, provision of consultancy services on the transition to climate-neutral economies, as well as in advocacy, communication, and building stakeholder networks. Through his work Johannes supports Green Deal reform initiatives that are driving the decarbonisation of energy, mobility and heating, through the expansion of renewables and hydrogen, flexible and integrated energy systems, digitalization and energy efficiency. Before joining EREF in 2018, Johannes worked as EU Policy Director for GEODE, which is the European associations of local energy distributors, representing national associations and local utilities from 15 countries across Europe. In this function, he has closely worked with EU institutions, regulators and other energy stakeholders throughout the adoption process of the Clean Energy for All Europeans Package.
