Joaquim Meléndez is professor on Automatic Control at the Universitat de Girona. He is leading the Control engineering and intelligent system group at this university, where he also leads a Chair on Smart Cities linked to the City of Girona. Currently he is deputy director of the Doctoral School of the Universitat de Girona and in the past he has been coordinating several degrees and  master programs. He is author of more than 120 research papers in journals and conferences reporting achievements on AI and data driven methods for energy amangement and process supervision.
