João Maia is the Global Head of IT/OT Architecture at EDP, bringing 13 years of strategic experience from within the global utility company.

His current focus is on defining the overarching strategy and target architecture for both IT and OT systems, then driving their convergence, integration, and security across EDP's global footprint, encompassing generation, transmission, and distribution assets.

Previously within EDP, João was instrumental in leading the adoption of cloud-native applications and spearheading the transformation to Agile methodologies across global competency centers. His experience also covers managing the  platforms for customer channels for several years.

Before joining the utility sector, he spent six years as a Product Manager in the telecommunications industry, specializing in areas critical to modern utilities, including, cloud services, and unified communications for the enterprise market.
