Javier has been Chief Commercial Officer of ContourGlobal since May 2024 and brings more than 20 years of experience in renewables, energy management, and trading activities, gained through international leadership roles across both global and regional scopes. He leads ContourGlobal’s commercial and energy management activities, overseeing the optimization of contracted and merchant revenues, the establishment of PPAs for new assets, and the recontracting of existing ones. He also spearheads the company’s efforts to deploy more resilient and flexible contracting structures, where tolling models, cost-sharing mechanisms, and BESS integration are becoming central to corporate renewable procurement.

Before joining ContourGlobal, he led Global PPA and Renewable Energy Solutions at Enel starting in 2016, ensuring optimal offtake strategies to de-risk the company’s renewable growth. He oversaw the origination, structuring, pricing, and negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements with corporates, utilities, and non-traditional off-takers. During his tenure, nearly 6 GW of PPAs were secured for new wind and solar capacity across the United States, Latin America, EMEA, and APAC.
