Francisco Javier Arriola Alcibar (Bilbao, 1969)
Senior Telecommunications Engineer from the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Bilbao. MBA PDG from Esade and Corporate Entrepreneurship from Babson Business School.
He is married and has three children.
Energy Sector: He completed the first edition of the IMD Global Leadership Program and is currently participating in the Driving Leadership Transformation Program offered by IESE and IMD.
He has experience in the telecommunications sector prior to joining the Iberdrola Group in 1996, where he has held various positions in the communications operations department, including communications development and maintenance, projects and services, and PLC development. He was responsible for the launch of the telecommunications operator Navega in Guatemala and the operator NeoSky in Spain, both part of the Iberdrola Group.
Head of the Smart Grid Operations and Network Automation department, whose responsibilities include leading the Star (Smart Grids) project at Iberdrola Distribución Eléctrica S.A.U. On February 9, 2017, he was appointed Director of Processes and Technology for the company, with responsibilities including information, control, and protection systems; standardization of equipment, services, and processes; and sustainability and the environment. He is responsible for smart grid projects in Spain.
In early 2021, he was appointed director of the strategic iNET-30 project, focused on defining the overall strategic vision for the Networks business across all countries and coordinating its development.
Since early 2022, he has been the Director of the Northern Region of i-DE.
