Irma Villar
Irma Villar has developed her professional work in the areas of power electronics, applied electromagnetics, and converter control, currently leading the Electromagnetism and Converter Control group at IKERLAN. She manages and coordinates both research and development projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams from concept definition to experimental validation. Her activity includes the modelling of magnetic components and systems, the design and control of power converters, and the integration of these technologies into demanding industrial applications. She combines analytical work with laboratory experimentation, contributing to projects involving induction heating, wireless energy transfer, and high-performance converter design, optimisation, and control. Her career reflects a steady focus on practical, research-based engineering aimed at improving efficiency, robustness, and reliability in advanced industrial environments.
