Since 2018 has lead the development of the power system model which underpins the analysis for BloombergNEF's flagship publication the New Energy Outlook. He has extensive expereince in scenario modeling and the challnges in modleing for Net Zero. Currently leading new work on models for the steel, aluminum, and cement sectors - but interested in all aspects of the energy transition. 

Ian has extensive experience in modeling flexibility and storage for power markets, including the potential for vehicle-to-grid applications. He has worked on emissions and carbon markets and has previously modeled consumer uptake for electric vehicle adoption. Ian has also developed project finanace models for utility scale batteries.
