Herman is the innovation manager for Digital at Elia Group (Elia Transmission Belgium and 50 Hertz in Germany). He holds a PhD in electrical engineering and has served as a data science consultant, forecaster, and product owner in various industries, specifically in energy.

In his current role he specializes in digital transformation within the energy sector, specifically projects in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, IT-OT integration, and data analytics which are not yet commercialized as products within the industry.

At Enlit he will be presenting a new forecasting market platform, or continuous, paid, forecasting tournament, which Elia will be launching soon.
