Mr Welford is a consultant offering solutions to the power plant boiler sector. His history is solidly coal, and like the coal-fired power plants he has worked on, he has made a transition to a greener world by helping the owners of coal-fired assets convert them to greener fuels such as biomass, waste or natural gas, without the impacts of building new plants from scratch. These are transitions, making the most of the existing assets before a timely retirement without wasting the remaining life of what we already have.
