I [Frédéric Guyomard] am a senior research engineer and project manager at Electricité De France (EDF-R&D-Lab Paris-Saclay) and I have been working for 25 years in the field of computer and digital security. I am graduated in Electronics and Telecommunication systems and a Master’s in cybersecurity and cybercrime (Troyes University of Technology).

I have been specialised for 20 years in Digital Security and the assessment of industrial environments by participating in large-scale projects, both for the renovation of installations and in the concerns of new projects for the EDF group (AMI, Nuclear, Transport, renewable energy, smart-grids and smart-charging, Scada and monitoring systems). In 2019 I was involved in the ‘Important Project of Common European Interest’ – Cybersecurity items with two of my topics selected to be recommended among the 6 workstreams to be prioritised.

I’ve been coordinating the H2020 project "PRAETORIAN", a consortium of 23 partners in 7 EU countries, dealing with the combined cyber and physical threats to Critical Infrastructures in Europe. This grant-funded project aimed to develop risk reduction and incident management tools on the cascading effects resulting from the realisation of these threats and incidents.

I am leading the EXERA Cybersecurity Technical Committee, member of ECSO and ENCS organisation and participant in EU-CIP project. I’m author of the Cybersecurity research roadmap for EDF Lab and I’m Expert at the European Commission for evaluation of proposals. 

Concerns: I am particularly interested in the security and resilience of industrial and critical facilities, the evaluation of threats on the digital domain and their potential impacts. Because the protection and defence of critical systems are huge issues, I’m working in partnerships and international collaborations at the European level. I’m involved in regulation and development of security measures and requirements in new or renovated architecture. Awareness-raising, education and training activities on these subjects are in my interest.
