Eugenio Perea
Eugenio Perea, BSc, MSc (1997) and PhD (2007) in Telecommunications Engineering, specialized in Radiocommunications, from the Bilbao School of Engineering (University of the Basque Country); and Master of Business Administration (2017) from the Sarriko Business School (University of the Basque Country). He has more than 25 years of experience at LABEIN Technological Centre and TECNALIA Research & Innovation. He is currently Head Director of the FLEXIBILITY AND ADVANCED OPERATION OF ELECTRIC NETWORKS in the Electrical Networks and Energy Planning Area of the Energy, Climate and Urban Transition Operational Unit at TECNALIA. This group aims to is to research and acquire knowledge for the development of innovative software solutions that enable optimal management of flexible energy resources connected to the electrical grid, including support tools for advanced grid operation and planning, as well as optimized diagnostics and maintenance of the various equipment and systems. Eugenio is also a Part Time Associated Professor at the Bilbao School of Engineering (University of the Basque Country). During his professional career, Eugenio has also enjoyed a full year research stay at MATRA Systemes et information, in 1998, half year stay in INTESPACE, in 1999, and two months stay in ARSENAL Research (now the Austrian Institute of Technology), in 2007. He has worked in several projects related to Electromagnetic Compatibility, Connection of Distributed Electric Generation Sources to the electrical grid, electrical Microgrids, Intelligent Energy Management Systems. He is the co-inventor of 6 research patents, co-author of more than 35 technical publications, more than 10 of which have an impact index, on the various topics mentioned, and a book on Microgrids. He has been part of two Thesis courts as an expert outside the University.
