Deborah Bartel works in the Digital Technologies and Start-up Ecosystem Department of the German Energy Agency (dena). After professional stops in Paris and Brussels she settled in her current job in Berlin in October 2023.

As Expert Start-up Ecosystem in the Start Up Energy Transition (SET) project (including the SET Awards and SET Tech Festival) and Energy Partnership projects, she connects innovative energy start-ups with investors, industry leaders, and policymakers who can turn big ideas into even bigger action.

She also has a mandate as Young Energy Ambassador 2025-2026 by the European Commission and holds an Erasmus Mundus master’s degree in European politics.
