Bruce Tulloch
Bruce serves as Senior Technology Adviser to the Chief Digital and Innovations Officer at JERA, Japan's largest power generation company. With four decades of experience in engineering and technology across entertainment, industrial, energy, and enterprise markets, Bruce has made significant contributions, including an Academy Award for the Fairlight Digital Audio Dubbing system, advancements in sonar and nuclear fusion diagnostics and the development of research clusters for Advanced Research in Integrated Energy Systems at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Bruce joined JERA to help advance its efforts, with E.ON, Origin Energy, GS Energy, and Intertrust Technologies, as founding members of the Trusted Energy Interoperability Alliance (TEIA), to foster secure and interoperable communications in modern decentralised global energy ecosystems. He brings his expertise in secure embedded Edge/AI to Cloud solutions, including recent experience in support of grid-scale emulation at NREL, to help drive the global transition to smarter, cleaner, green, and efficient energy.
Passionate about open standards, Bruce envisions TEIA's influence in energy paralleling advancements in industry wide interoperability witnessed in telecommunications. He actively encourages others in the energy sector to join TEIA in this transformative journey.
On a personal note, Bruce is dedicated to enhancing STEM education through project-based learning and collaborative problem-solving, especially in a world becoming infused with AI. He is active in the startup and scale-up sectors, nurturing new ventures to seize emerging opportunities in the energy transition.
