Andoni’s role at Climate-KIC is driving systemic approaches to decarbonisation and circularity across European value chains, where he contributes to the deployment of Government-Industry dialogues for place-based systemic transformation. He has been involvement in the Gipuzkoa Deep demonstration project, fostering collaboration among the local ecosystem (local governments, businesses, civil society and citizens) to accelerate climate innovation in the Basque region. He also serves as a Policy Advisor at UN-Habitat, supporting the development of sustainable urban policies, especially in the Basque region, and he also works as an expert evaluator for the EU LIFE Programme and as International Communications Manager for Opengela, promoting urban regeneration and energy efficiency in the Basque Region. Previously, he worked for 17 years in Brussels, where he was involved on EU policy on energy end the environment, leading projects on sustainable development and European cooperation, training public authorities and organisations in integrating the UN Sustainable Development Goals into local strategies.
