Alvaro obtained his degree in Industrial Engineering, in the specialty of Electricity, from the Engineering University of Bilbao. He also obtained his Master´s degree on Technical and Economic Management of the Electric System from the Comillas University.

He has over 27 years of experience at different positions in the electricity networks business, in the areas of network planning and regulation. He is today head of regulation at i-DE, formerly Iberdrola Distribution. He has represented his company at many national and international working groups, like EDSO for smart grids and Eurelectric.

As part of his career, Alvaro was assigned as Integration Director for SP Energy Networks from 2014 to 2017, where he led a SAP implementation project in the network business.
