Alberto Sánchez Miravalles
Alberto is a geologist with a decade of experience across the energy and environmental sectors. Building on a solid academic foundation—including an MSc in Oil & Gas Engineering and several postgraduate courses—he has developed expertise in gas facilities & reservoir mechanics, geological storage, and project management. His career includes roles at Spain’s Transmission System Operator ENAGAS and with major consultancies, including an international assignment in Saudi Arabia that deepened his insight into geotechnics and business.
Based in Brussels since 2019, Alberto has been managing R&D + innovation projects under several EU-funded programmes at the European Federation of Geologists. In February 2025, he joined the Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA) as EU Policy Manager, focusing on advancing policies and frameworks that support implementing CO2 management strategies.
He also collaborates with the Spanish Association of Professional Geologists (ICOG) as a fellow, developing online courses on geological storage.
