Ainhoa Cortés
Ainhoa Cortés received her M.Sc. Degree in electrical, electronic and control engineering from the University of Navarra in 2004, and her Ph.D. in 2007. She is a researcher staff member at CEIT since 2004 and an associate professor at the University of Navarra since 2008. Since 2004, her research work has focused on the design of digital communication systems and digital signal processing. In the past,
she participated in the design of the SIL4 railway signaling communications system (ERTMS/ETCS) test environment. She has participated in more than 30 scientific-technical contributions in international conferences and journals, 14 of them being indexed publications. Its “h” index is 7 and its publications have 181 citations in
total. She has co-directed 3 theses and she is co-author of 2 patents. Currently, she is working on the design of Microprocessor/FPGA-based HW platforms for intelligent data acquisition and monitoring in different projects in sectors such as transport and energy. She has participated in more than 30 research projects, being Main Researcher of 14. She combines her research activity at CEIT with teaching at the
Higher School of Engineers of the University of Navarra (Tecnun). She has participated as Main Researcher in the design of a corrosion monitoring and communications system in hostile environments within the European project WATEREYE, which she has also coordinated. Currently, she is still immersed in the research of the in-service monitoring solution for the degradation of structures, leading three projects (a national HarshMoP project, two European Projects
SUREWAVE and WILLOW and an industrial project INTEGRIA). She is currently Associated Director of the Electronic Systems and Communications group of the ICT Division at CEIT.
