Presentation of aspect of H2LEC concept – A sustainable system in electricity and hydrogen supply
A Local energy community (LEC) is a vertically nested system in energy supply and an ecosystem with joint values and objectives. An H2LEC – Local energy community with integrated hydrogen systems - represents the carrier of dispersed energy and hydrogen production as a complement of concentrated energy and hydrogen production.
H2LEC is a connected system that can achieve high share of electricity and hydrogen self-supply. The necessary enabling technologies include integrated hydrogen production, storage and consumption, their techno-economic symbiosis with local renewables production and automated trading of flexible energy between members and on the connected external markets.
