Since November 2024, he has been leading the Brussels office of the Polish Electricity Association (PKEE). PKEE, which brings together Poland's largest energy companies and leading organizations in the sector, is the only Polish representative in Eurelectric - Europe's electricity industry trade association.
Mr Pawlik is an EU affairs professional with over 15 years of work experience in Brussels, serving as an assistant to the President of the European Parliament (2009-2012) and, from 2012 to 2024, as a parliamentary advisor to MEP Jerzy Buzek in the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE).
Ryszard Pawlik specialises in EU energy, climate, and industrial policy. During his career, he has been involved in elaborations and negotiations on a substantial number of key EU legislative files in these fields, including the ETS Directive, the Just Transition Fund Regulation, proposals for the EU Electricity Market Design, the Security of Gas Supply Regulation, revision of the Gas Directive or the Hydrogen and Gas Package.
Coming from Upper Silesia, the Polish coal mining region, Mr Pawlik is a true believer in and promoter of a just energy transition in the European Union.
