InterPED (Interoperable cloud-based solution for cross-vector planning and management of Positive Energy Districts) is a Horizon Europe project dedicated to advancing sustainable and data-driven Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) across Europe.
InterPED brings together 14 partners from seven countries, combining expertise in ICT, energy management, and social sciences. Coordinated by R2M Solution, the project develops an interoperable, cloud-based platform enabling cross-vector energy planning, flexibility management, and citizen engagement to enhance urban resilience.
InterPED’s integrated approach is being demonstrated in four pilot sites—in Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Romania—representing diverse urban contexts and energy challenges.
The project is built on three key principles:
- Integration of renewable energy, storage, and flexibility mechanisms.
- Digitalisation through interoperable, cross-sector energy data management.
- Engagement of citizens and local stakeholders to ensure lasting impact and community empowerment.
