The Chimie Balard Cirimat Carnot Institute (CBC Carnot Institute) is a group of public research institutes committed to partnership research with industry. Given the Carnot label in 2006 by the Ministry of Research, our institute draws on the recognised research expertise of more than 800 researchers in the areas of Chemistry, Materials and Processes.I

The research teams are part of 4 CNRS-university research institutions :

Institut des Biomolécules Max Mousseron – IBMM

Centre Inter-universitaire de Recherche et d’Ingénierie des Matériaux – CIRIMAT

Our institute depends directly on 5 educational institutions: CNRS, National School of Chemistry of Montpellier, National Polytechnical Institute of Toulouse, University of Toulouse Paul Sabatier, University of Montpellier.

In the theme of Energy, it has recognition of its scientific excellence in the fields of batteries (Li, Post Li, etc.), hydrogen technologies (production, detection, separation, transport, storage), piezoelectric materials and thermoelectric materials.
