Type of Organisation
The Port Authority of Bilbao is the entity responsible for the management of the Port of Bilbao and for offering an agile and efficient service in accordance with the needs of the port community and the citizens.
Our port is one of the main logistic and industrial enclaves of the Atlantic Arc and a point of reference for the transport of goods to more than 800 ports around the world from or to the Iberian Peninsula and the south of France.
A port focused on sustainability and committed to being an increasingly green port.
What will we be doing / showcasing at the event: Bilbao Port, Spain, has received CEF funding (Project 101079550 — 21-ES-TG-BilbOPS) to cut carbon emissions by electrifying its docks. Through the BilbOPS project, container, ro-ro, ro-pax and cruise terminals will offer onshore power, letting ships switch off engines while berthed. The port also plans a green energy hub using local renewables, aiming to meet 90% of ships’ power needs by 2030.
