Libelium to present its digital twin, already implemented in 500 km of REE, at ENLIT 2025
In this context, Libelium's grid360 emerges as a crucial tool that maximizes the performance of existing infrastructure without the need to build new lines, reducing costs and environmental impact.
Libelium's solution uses a network of IoT sensors to capture real-time meteorological variables that directly affect the transport capacity of power lines (ampacity). This data feeds a digital twin which, through predictive models, allows companies to plan network management up to 72 hours in advance. This optimization not only improves energy transport efficiency by up to 30%, but also facilitates decision-making to balance generation and demand more profitably and securely.
"The deployment of renewables is unstoppable, but to safely integrate all that new energy into the current power grid, it is essential to have complete and predictive visibility of the network. With grid360, we are creating a digital twin that offers precisely that: the intelligence needed for operators to make critical decisions, anticipate problems, and ensure system stability," says José Antonio Cabo, Sales Manager for Critical Infrastructures at Libelium.
Libelium's presence in the Spanish Pavilion at ENLIT 2025, a benchmark forum for the energy transition in Europe, will allow the company to show the main players in the sector the tangible results of its collaboration with Red Eléctrica, setting new standards in intelligent electricity infrastructure management.
