The Inter-Control Center Communications Protocol (ICCP), also known as TASE.2, is an international standard that defines communication between control centers, utilities, and power pools.

Since both TASE.2 and IEC 61850 use the Manufacturing Message Specification (MMS) protocol, a substantial portion of the source code is shared between the two products.

The library architecture consists of a core component, which implements all functionality defined by the standard, and a platform abstraction layer (also referred to as a driver). This modular design enables easy portability across different platforms. Currently, Windows (7, 8, 10) and Linux are supported.

The library is implemented in object-oriented C++, with optional C, Python or Java APIs available upon request. JPEmbedded’s ICCP/TASE.2 solution supports both client and server roles.

For enhanced security, an encrypted communication channel based on the TLS protocol, compliant with IEC 62351, is also available.
