Session: Gas Infrastructure: What is in the Pipeline?
There are very ambitious plans with new renewable gas that will have to be transported. What is the status of the key infrastructure development projects today? The EU's natural gas import dependency reached an all-time high level a couple of years back. The world's demand for natural gas today is set to decline slightly in 2022 as a result of higher prices and market disruptions caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, according to the IEA. Natural gas consumption this year is expected to fall by close to 6% in Europe. All eyes are looking toward the viability of converting natural gas pipelines into pipelines transporting hydrogen. The multi-purpose utilization might affect investment decisions in the future when it comes to the construction of new gas pipelines. On the market side, LNG prices are record high. Increasing low-carbon sources of energy is essential, including domestically produced low-carbon gases What is the latest in transporting Hydrogen?
