Michael's work explores the question of whether power networks are ready for the energy transition and increasing amounts of renewable generation and electric vehicle charging to name but a few changes. A key focus of this is the decentralization of our energy systems: more power equipment connecting at the low-voltage grid and consumers taking a more active role in their energy use. Businesses, network companies and regulators must quickly build new ways of working if we are to achieve the necessary changes.
