Kees van der Leun
Kees van der Leun has worked as a consultant on many aspects of the energy transition for over 35 years, one of the highlights being the work of Ecofys with WWF on The Energy Report, the first ever analysis of how the global energy system could run on 100% renewable energy. In recent years, he has mainly been working on system integration of offshore wind and on how renewable gases (biomethane and green hydrogen) can best play their roles in a net-zero European emission energy system.
Last year, he started Common Futures, a new energy transition consultancy fully focussing on energy system optimisation. Kees likes to communicate on energy and climate via Twitter, where his @sustainable2050 account has over 35,000 followers.
