Katharina Hetzenecker
Katharina Hetzenecker is a group leader for the power electronics and drives group at the Institute for Power Generation and Storage Systems, E.ON Energy Research Center, at RWTH Aachen University, where she is also pursuing her PhD.
Since 2018, her research has focused on advancing medium-voltage direct current (MVDC) grid technologies. She is WP leader of the EU funded projects HYPERRIDE and Shift2DC—both promoting the integration of power electronics and DC technologies in grid systems.
Katharina holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering with a specialization in electrical power engineering from RWTH Aachen University. Her academic work focuses on modeling grid components for hybrid AC/DC and DC-grids.
