Janet Wood  has been a journalist covering the power and energy sector for 30 years, covering technology, policy and politics as editor of magazines including Power Engineering, Asian Electricity, Middle East Electricity and Utility Week. 

She is currently editor of New Power,  following  the UK power and energy sector transformation. Other recent journalism includes Wind Power Monthly, Freight Carbon Zero, Nuclear Engineering International, Energy Industry Times, Modern Power Systems, The Water Report. She is the author of two books for the IET, on nuclear energy and local heat and power.

She is a current member of Cadent’s Customer Challenge Group and SPEN’s Independent Net Zero Advisory Group and was  a member of Cadent’s  Customer Engagement Group for RIIO2.

She is a Council member of the British Institute for Energy Economics and the APPG on energy studies and a Fellow of the Energy Institute.
