Georgios Halambalakis is a Senior Consultant and EU Project Manager at EUROCORE.be, a start-up within GEPPGROUP based in Brussels, with more than 20 years of professional experience across academia, research, and consulting. He has a deep background in physics, nanotechnology, and renewable energy, bringing significant expertise and leadership to his role.

Georgios's career spans several key areas, including advanced research in laser physics, nanotechnology, and photovoltaic systems. He has managed numerous high-profile projects and research initiatives in collaboration with top institutions and companies across Europe, including IESL-FORTH (Greece), Biozentrum (Switzerland), Royal Philips (Netherlands), DEMOKRITOS (Greece), and C.R.E.S. (Greece). His roles have involved research, project management, and consultancy, with a strong focus on cutting-edge technology and sustainable energy solutions.

At EUROCORE.be, Georgios has been instrumental in guiding EU-funded projects and strategic initiatives, especially in the context of Horizon Europe. His work has included developing proposals, managing project deliverables, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. Prior to his current role, he spent over a decade at the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources (C.R.E.S.) in Athens, where he contributed to the advancement of photovoltaic systems and distributed generation.

Georgios's academic accomplishments include earning a BSc (Hons) in Physics and Laser Science from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, in 2000, followed by a PhD in Condensed Matter Physics & Nanotechnology from the University of Montpellier, France, in 2005. He has authored and co-authored 12 papers in prestigious international and national journals and conferences, and was recognized with the "Best Paper for Young Researcher" Award at the E-MRS Conference in 2004.

His expertise extends to areas such as nanotechnology applications, renewable energy, and EU project management, making him a valuable advisor to both private and public organizations navigating the complexities of energy transition and technological innovation. Georgios is also certified in Sustainable Business Strategy and the Power of Influence for Positive Change from Harvard Business School (2023) and holds an MBA Essentials certification from the London School of Economics (2020).
