Prof.dr.ir. Geert Deconinck is full professor in smart grids at KU Leuven university (Belgium). For more than 15 years, he has been exploring how electrical flexibility and demand response can be integrated in the energy system. He heads$$ the research group ELECTA (Electrical Energy Systems and Applications) at the Department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT) at his university and is active in the research centre EnergyVille on sustainable energy for the built environment.
