Dr. Claire Vaglio-Gaudard is Director of Research and senior expert at the IRESNE institute (Research Institute on Nuclear Systems for low carbon Energy production) at CEA Cadarache in France. She worked for over 15 years on the development and validation of calculation schemes for the study of nuclear reactor neutronics. She has expanded her activities to include modeling, simulation and validation for multi-physics tools.

She spent 4 years, between 2016 and 2020, as head of a laboratory about innovative reactor design at CEA.

She is currently coordinator of a European project (Euratom framework) studying the benefits of integrating Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) into Europe's future low-carbon energy mix.
