Nevin Alija
Nevin Alija is the EU Affairs Manager at Floene, Portugal’s leading gas distribution group, and serves as Vice-Chair of the Distribution Committee at Eurogas. A lawyer by training, she brings extensive expertise in EU energy law and policy, renewable energies, state aid, and renewable gases, including hydrogen and biomethane. Her professional background spans international organizations, academia, and public policy.
Nevin is a co-founder and member of the Implementation Team of Women in Energy – Mulheres na Energia Portugal and actively contributes to several industry and academic initiatives. She co-founded and was a researcher at Nova Law Green Lab, where she focused on Energy and Climate Law, coordinating teaching programs on renewable energy and sustainable development.
Her international engagements include serving as a member of the UNDP External Advisory Group for Energy Governance (2023–2024), and since March 2023, she has been part of the World Energy Council’s Global Future Energy Leaders Programme. There, she has led key workstreams such as the Energy Trilemma Index and the Insights Monitor for Europe.
Since January 2024, Nevin has represented Portugal as an EU Climate Pact Ambassador, promoting climate action and sustainable energy solutions across Europe.
