Since October 2024, Alexis Kontoghiannis has been working as a Policy Advisor for the Gas LNG Europe column (GLE) within GIE. His work focuses on the current and future role of gas storage, taxation, and security of supply related policies.

Before joining GIE, he worked in several large chemical companies, then on energy and sustainability issues within the European Commission and in a consultancy.

Alexis holds an Executive Master’s Degree in European Studies from the College of Europe, a Master’s in Environmental Studies from Sciences Po Paris, and a Chemical Engineering Degree from the National Chemistry Graduate School of Montpellier.
