Tasked with formulating a proposal for the 2030 National Energy and Climate Plan, Italy has devised an ambitious strategy to significantly contribute to the Energy Union's goals.
The initial segment of the plan delineates the country's targets regarding renewable energy, emissions reduction, and energy efficiency. Encouraging forecasts from energy experts project that by 2030 renewable sources will cover up to 30% of gross final consumption. Various industrial sectors will play distinct roles in achieving these targets, with projections indicating 55.4% in the electricity segment, 21.6% in transport, and 33% in heating.
