Spotlight on Countries Germany

Let’s utilise Enlit Europe to connect the best of Germany to the rest of the world!

Germany

Germany has become a leading market for renewables, mainly wind, solar and biomass. It is currently the world’s third country by installed wind power capacity and second for offshore wind, with roughly 27% of its electricity generated from renewables in general. In order however to support the rollout of renewables, Germany must – according to the International Energy Agency (IEA) – concentrate on hydrogen technology. In fact, The German government is currently discussing a highly anticipated hydrogen strategy.

Key Objectives

  • Investing and implementing Hydrogen Technology
  • LNG import
  • 60% electricity made by renewables by 2050
  • Cut greenhouse emissions by 55% by 2030
